Peter Jones was the only original Dragon to remain on the panel through every series by 2022.
Jones joined the original UK panel when Dragon's Den launched in 2005. The other initial investors changed over time as entrepreneurs left the programme and new Dragons were introduced. His uninterrupted presence made him the panel's longest-serving original member and one of the show's defining figures.
Jones is an entrepreneur whose business interests have included communications, technology, retail and property. On the programme, he became known for assessing ownership percentages, growth potential and the practical scale of a proposed business. His height and formal style also made him visually distinctive among the investors.
The wording refers to the original British panel and the position recorded by 2022; it does not mean Jones was the only Dragon ever to appear in the programme. Later investors, including Deborah Meaden, became equally familiar to audiences but joined after the launch.
