Peter Jones was the only original British Dragon to remain on the panel continuously from series one.
Jones joined the original investor line-up when Dragon's Den began in 2005 and continued as a regular Dragon through later changes to the panel. His business interests have included technology, media, retail and telecommunications, areas that shaped many of his questions to entrepreneurs.
The original British panel also included Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Simon Woodroffe and Doug Richard. Several of those investors later left, while other Dragons joined in subsequent series. This changing line-up is why viewers can easily confuse “original Dragon” with “longest-serving Dragon”.
Peter Jones is also a television personality and entrepreneur outside the programme. His continued presence made him one of the most recognisable faces associated with the British franchise and its investment negotiations.
