Peter Jones was the longest-serving dragon on the British series Dragon's Den.
Jones joined the original panel when the BBC programme launched in 2005 and remained a regular investor across the show's early and later series. He is a British entrepreneur whose business interests have included technology, media, retail and telecommunications. His height and distinctive style also made him one of the programme's most recognisable figures.
The panel has changed repeatedly. Theo Paphitis and Duncan Bannatyne were prominent early dragons, while other investors joined for particular periods or guest appearances. Their visibility can make it easy to confuse a long-running panel member with the investor who served for the greatest span.
Jones's Dragon's Den role is separate from his work outside television. A dragon may be famous for a particular deal, but length of service is measured by continued participation on the programme. Jones's run began with the first series, giving him the longest tenure among the regular dragons.
