Which Dragons' Den investor was born in Australia and later became a regular dragon?

The story behind the answer

Richard Farleigh was the Dragons' Den investor who was born in Australia and later became a regular dragon.

Farleigh was born in Australia and built his career as an investor and fund manager. His financial background differed from that of several other dragons, whose careers were more visibly rooted in retail, property, telecommunications or consumer brands.

He joined the British programme as a dragon and became especially associated with investment discussions involving business valuation, ownership percentages and growth prospects. He also co-invested with Peter Jones in Levi Roots's Reggae Reggae Sauce pitch.

Farleigh left the regular panel after the fifth series. That departure is one reason he may be less familiar to viewers who mainly watched later line-ups. His name is also sometimes confused with other dragons because the programme has changed its panel repeatedly over its long run.
