Duncan Bannatyne left the British programme Dragon's Den in 2014 after appearing as an investor from its early years.
Bannatyne joined the panel near the beginning of the show's run and became known for challenging entrepreneurs about profit, risk and the value of their companies. His business interests included health clubs, care homes and hotels, giving him experience across several sectors.
His departure was part of the programme's continuing investor turnover. Dragon's Den has never had one permanent panel: Dragons have joined and left at different times, while Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden became especially associated with its longer-running lineups.
Bannatyne's exit is sometimes confused with the departure dates of other investors, particularly Theo Paphitis, who left earlier. The year 2014 identifies Bannatyne's final stage in the main British series.
