Hilary Devey joined the regular Dragon's Den panel in 2011 after building a career in recruitment and logistics.
Devey founded Pall-Ex, a palletised freight distribution network, in 1996. The company connected independent transport operators so that palletised goods could be moved efficiently around Britain and Europe. Her business experience gave her a strong connection to logistics, supply chains and the practical problems faced by growing companies.
She joined Dragon's Den as a Dragon in 2011 and remained associated with the programme for one series. Her time on the show is distinct from her later television work, including presenting The Intern. It is also distinct from the careers of other women who later appeared as investors.
The date can be confused with the arrival dates of Deborah Meaden, Kelly Hoppen or Jenny Campbell, all of whom belonged to different phases of the panel. Devey's identifying combination is her 2011 appointment and her role as founder of Pall-Ex, rather than a retail or fashion business.
