Theo Paphitis joined the British Dragon's Den investor panel in series 2, replacing Simon Woodroffe.
Paphitis is a Greek-Cypriot British businessman best known for building businesses in retail and property. His appearance added another retail-focused perspective to the panel, alongside questions about sales, margins, branding and the practical route from a pitch to a scalable company.
Simon Woodroffe was one of the original Dragons, but he left after the first series. Paphitis then became part of the familiar panel seen by many early viewers. He remained associated with the programme for several series before later departures and panel changes.
Deborah Meaden is a frequent source of mix-ups because she also joined after the opening series, but she entered in series 3, not series 2. Peter Jones and Duncan Bannatyne, by contrast, were members of the original panel.
