Touker Suleyman joined the British Dragons' Den panel in 2015 after working in fashion retail.
Suleyman is a British-Turkish Cypriot businessman whose career includes fashion and retail. He is associated with the fashion label Ghost and with Hawes & Curtis, the shirtmaker he acquired and developed. Those businesses gave him experience in branding, manufacturing, wholesale and high-street retail.
His appointment added another retail-focused investor to the programme's changing panel. Dragons are selected not only for available capital but also for the practical knowledge they can bring to entrepreneurs. Suleyman's questioning often reflects concerns about margins, production, stock and routes to market.
The year 2015 identifies his arrival on the British programme, not the year he entered business. He had already built a substantial commercial career by then. The answer is also distinct from Nick Jenkins, who joined the panel in the same broad period but is associated with the online greetings-card business Moonpig.
