Which Dragon's Den investor joined the British panel in 2007?

The story behind the answer

James Caan joined the British Dragon's Den investor panel in 2007.

Caan became a Dragon during the programme's fifth series, following the departure of some of the original investors. He brought experience from the recruitment industry, where he had built and invested in businesses, including ventures connected with executive search and staffing.

His appearance helped make recruitment and business services recurring themes in the den. Like the other investors, Caan assessed entrepreneurs' pitches and negotiated possible equity investments in exchange for funding.

The year can be confused with other investor arrivals. Deborah Meaden joined earlier, in 2006, while Hilary Devey joined later, in 2011. Nick Jenkins became a Dragon later still, joining in 2015. These different arrival years are useful markers in the show's changing investor line-up.
