Touker Suleyman joined the BBC's Dragon's Den in 2015 as a replacement for James Caan. His arrival added an experienced fashion and manufacturing entrepreneur to the investment panel.
Suleyman is a British-Cypriot businessman whose interests have included fashion, textiles, manufacturing, and retail. He is associated with the fashion company Hawes & Curtis and the clothing brand Ghost. His commercial background gives him particular experience in product development, supply chains, branding, and physical retail.
James Caan had been one of the programme's investors before leaving the panel. Dragon's Den regularly refreshes its cast, and incoming dragons are selected partly because they bring different commercial experience and perspectives to negotiations.
The date is easy to mix up because several investor changes occurred across the show's long run. Touker Suleyman's debut was in 2015, while later arrivals included Nick Jenkins, Tej Lalvani, Sara Davies, and Steven Bartlett. These were separate changes rather than alternate names for the same appointment.
