Kelly Hoppen joined the BBC Dragon's Den panel in 2013 and is a renowned interior designer.
Hoppen is known for a design style built around clean lines, neutral colours and a blend of Eastern and Western influences. She began her design career as a teenager and later worked on residential, commercial and transport interiors.
She joined Dragon's Den as an investor in the eleventh series, broadcast in 2013. Her participation broadened the panel's business backgrounds beyond technology, retail and manufacturing by bringing in a specialist from design and luxury interiors.
Hoppen left the regular Dragon's Den panel after several series. She is sometimes confused with Deborah Meaden because both were prominent female investors on the programme, but they joined at different times and have different professional backgrounds. Hoppen's core field is interior design, while Meaden is chiefly associated with business investment and leisure companies.
