Which Dragon's Den investor is the founder of the technology retailer Phones International Group?

The story behind the answer

Peter Jones is the founder of Phones International Group.

Phones International Group was a telecommunications business founded by British entrepreneur Peter Jones. Jones built a career in technology, mobile communications and consumer electronics, and those interests became central to his public identity as a Dragon on the BBC programme.

Jones was one of the original investors in the British series and remained associated with the panel across many series. His businesses and investments have covered technology, telecommunications, retail and media, making him distinct from Dragons whose principal reputations came from health clubs, stationery or food.

Phones International Group should not be confused with Phones 4u. Phones 4u was founded by John Caudwell, who also appeared as a Dragon, but it was a separate company. The similar names reflect the mobile-phone industry in which both entrepreneurs operated, not shared ownership or a single corporate history.
