Peter Jones is associated with the British business empire Phones International Group.
The company was founded by Jones in the telecommunications sector and became part of the commercial background that established him as an entrepreneur. His interests have also included technology, media, property and retail, making him one of the most diversified investors connected with the British programme.
Phones International Group is distinct from the mobile-phone networks that consumers use. It was a business group involved in telecommunications products and services, rather than simply a national network operator such as Vodafone or O2.
Jones became one of the most recognisable Dragons because of his long-running presence, technology knowledge and willingness to invest in scalable consumer products. His business history predates his television career.
