Which Dragons' Den investor has appeared continuously on the British series since its first episode?

The story behind the answer

Peter Jones is the Dragons' Den investor who has appeared continuously on the British series since its first episode.

Jones was part of the original panel when the programme premiered in January 2005. He is a British entrepreneur and businessman whose interests have included technology, communications, property and retail. His continued presence made him the longest-serving original investor in the regular UK panel.

Several other early Dragons became strongly associated with the programme. Duncan Bannatyne was an original investor, while Deborah Meaden joined during the third series. Theo Paphitis also became a prominent long-term panellist, but he did not remain on the show continuously through every later series.

Peter Jones is often recognised by his tall stature and measured negotiating style. His investments on the programme have covered consumer products, food, technology and service businesses, although television appearances do not represent every part of his wider commercial career.
