Peter Jones founded the technology retail company Phones International Group.
Jones is a British entrepreneur and investor whose business interests have included mobile communications, consumer technology, property and media. He founded Phones International Group, which became an important part of his early business career.
He was one of the five original Dragons when the BBC series began in 2005. Jones is the only investor from that original panel to remain a regular Dragon throughout the programme's later line-ups, a distinction often highlighted in coverage of the show.
Phones International Group should not be confused with Phones 4u, a separate British mobile-phone retailer. Jones's company operated in the mobile-communications sector, but the two businesses had different ownership histories.
