Which Dragon’s Den investor founded the school-startup programme School for Startups?

The story behind the answer

Doug Richard founded the School for Startups programme.

Doug Richard created School for Startups to provide education and practical support for entrepreneurs. The programme focused on the skills needed to launch and grow a business, including business planning, finance and sales. It reflected Richard’s wider interest in entrepreneurship education as well as investment.

Richard was one of the original Dragons on the British version of Dragon’s Den. He appeared in the first two series and was known for his technology and start-up experience. Before television, he had founded and worked with technology companies in both the United States and Britain. School for Startups should not be confused with a university degree programme: it was an entrepreneurial training initiative aimed at founders and prospective founders.
