Which Dragons' Den investor founded the hospitality company YOTEL?

The story behind the answer

Simon Woodroffe founded the hospitality company YOTEL.

YOTEL is a hotel group built around compact rooms, technology-led check-in and a design influenced partly by premium-airline cabins. Woodroffe developed the concept after his work with Yo! Sushi and the earlier Yotel cabin-hotel idea associated with airport accommodation.

Woodroffe was one of the original investors on Dragons' Den when the British programme launched in 2005. His business background covered restaurants, hotels, fashion and consumer services, making him one of the panel’s more varied entrepreneurs.

The company name is often written in all capitals as YOTEL, which distinguishes it from the earlier Yotel concept and from unrelated hotel brands. It is also easy to confuse Woodroffe with investors known mainly for retail or property; his best-known hospitality creation is the YOTEL brand.
