Peter Jones founded the business communications company Phones International Group.
Phones International Group was established by Jones in 1998 and became a major part of his business career. The company operated in mobile telecommunications and business communications, areas that helped Jones build expertise in technology, retail and communications before his television work.
Jones joined the British Dragon’s Den panel in the first series and became one of its longest-serving investors. He is often associated with technology, consumer products and communications pitches, reflecting the sectors in which he built much of his commercial experience.
The company is sometimes confused with Jones’s later investment activities or with mobile-phone brands he backed on television. Phones International Group was his own founded communications business, rather than a Dragon’s Den product or a company founded by another panel member.
