Steven Bartlett became the youngest-ever Dragon’s Den investor when he joined the British panel in 2021.
Bartlett joined the BBC business-investment programme for its nineteenth series, taking a seat alongside established investors including Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman and Sara Davies. His appointment brought a younger technology and social-media perspective to the panel.
Bartlett is best known as the co-founder of Social Chain, a social-media marketing agency established in Manchester in 2014 with Dominic McGregor. He also became widely known through The Diary of a CEO podcast, which developed into a major business and interview platform.
The distinction is about Bartlett’s age when he joined the panel, not about being the show’s first young entrepreneur or its first investor from the technology sector. Dragon’s Den has featured many younger business founders, but the investors are the people who assess pitches and decide whether to offer their own money.
