Which Dragon's Den investor became famous for the catchphrase “I'm out”?

The story behind the answer

Duncan Bannatyne became especially associated with the catchphrase “I'm out” on Dragon's Den.

Bannatyne was one of the five original investors when the British programme began in 2005. In the format, a dragon can withdraw from a negotiation by declaring that they are no longer interested in investing. Bannatyne's use of “I'm out” became a recognisable part of the show's language.

He built businesses in care homes, health clubs and hotels, and became a prominent public figure through his television appearances. His direct questioning and quick decisions were recurring features of his time on the programme.

The phrase itself is not exclusive to Bannatyne: any dragon can use it when rejecting a pitch. However, Bannatyne is the investor most strongly linked with the expression in popular discussion of the British series.
