Which Dragons' Den investor backed the GripIt business presented by Jordan Daykin?

The story behind the answer

Deborah Meaden backed the GripIt business presented by Jordan Daykin on Dragons' Den.

GripIt is a wall-fixing product designed for plasterboard, and Daykin presented it while he was 18. Meaden recognised the potential of the product and agreed to invest, linking her support to the business’s proposed growth and commercial opportunity.

The pitch is notable because it combined a practical household product with an unusually young founder. It also illustrates that a Dragon’s interest depends on more than the invention itself: the investor must assess the valuation, ownership offered, manufacturing, distribution and ability of the entrepreneur to execute the plan.

Other investors, including Peter Jones, Theo Paphitis and Duncan Bannatyne, have appeared in the programme, but they were not the Dragon associated with the GripIt investment in this pitch.
