Which Dragon’s Den entrepreneur invented the hairbrush brand Tangle Teezer?
Answer
Shaun Pulfrey
Answer
Shaun Pulfrey
Shaun Pulfrey invented the Tangle Teezer hairbrush brand and presented the idea on BBC’s Dragon’s Den.
Pulfrey developed the brush after working as a hair colourist and observing how conventional brushes could pull and damage tangled hair. The Tangle Teezer used flexible, differently sized teeth intended to separate tangles more gently, including in wet hair.
He pitched the product on Dragon’s Den in 2007 but did not secure investment. The company later achieved major commercial success, selling the brushes internationally and turning the product into a recognisable beauty brand.
The programme appearance is often remembered because the eventual success came without a Dragon’s backing. Tangle Teezer should not be confused with Trunki, another well-known Dragon’s Den pitch that also became successful after leaving the programme without a deal.
