Which Dragon's Den entrepreneur invented the GripIt plasterboard fixing?
Answer
Jordan Daykin
Answer
Jordan Daykin
Jordan Daykin invented the GripIt plasterboard fixing and presented it on Dragon's Den.
GripIt was designed to provide a stronger way to attach objects to plasterboard, a common building material that can be difficult to secure with ordinary wall plugs. Daykin developed the product after identifying a practical problem with hanging heavy items on hollow walls.
His television appearance attracted attention because he was very young when he pitched the invention. The product became one of the better-known hardware ideas associated with the programme and was backed by investor Deborah Meaden.
GripIt should not be confused with a conventional adhesive hook. It is a mechanical fixing system intended for plasterboard, and its distinctive design is central to the product's purpose.
