Rob Law created the children's ride-on suitcase Trunki.
Law designed Trunki as a travel product that children could sit on and ride while using it as luggage. The case was intended to make journeys easier for families by giving children a practical object that also provided entertainment in airports and other travel settings.
He presented the idea on Dragons' Den, but the Dragons did not invest. The pitch is frequently remembered because the product later became commercially successful despite leaving the programme without a deal. This makes Trunki a common example of a business that the panel rejected but that went on to build a substantial market.
Trunki is sometimes confused with other luggage businesses or with the investors who discussed the pitch. The entrepreneur's name is Rob Law, and the product's distinctive feature is its ride-on design. The business was developed through Law's company Magmatic, which produced Trunki and related travel products.
