Steven Bartlett was the youngest person ever appointed to the British Dragons' Den panel when he joined in 2022.
Bartlett joined the programme for its twentieth series, becoming a Dragon at age 29. He was already known as a technology entrepreneur, author and host of The Diary of a CEO podcast. His best-known business achievement before the appointment was co-founding the social-media marketing company Social Chain.
His arrival marked a generational change for the panel. Earlier Dragons generally came from longer-established careers in retail, manufacturing, property, finance or leisure, whereas Bartlett represented the digital-startup and social-media economy.
The age claim refers to appointment to the British panel, not to the youngest contestant or the youngest person to receive an offer. Those are separate records and can produce different answers. Bartlett has also appeared in business and podcast media outside the BBC programme.
