Peter Jones was the youngest investor on the original UK Dragon's Den panel.
When the British series began, Jones was younger than the other members of the original panel. He was born in 1966 and had already built a career as an entrepreneur and investor before joining the programme. His business interests have included technology, telecommunications, property and leisure.
The original panel also included Duncan Bannatyne, Theo Paphitis, Deborah Meaden and Rachel Elnaugh. Age comparisons can be confusing because the panel changed over time, and “youngest Dragon” may refer to a later newcomer rather than the original group. In the launch panel, however, the answer is Jones.
Jones is notable for remaining a Dragon from the programme's beginning. That long tenure is separate from the age fact: being an original investor does not by itself mean he was the oldest or most senior member of the panel.
