Peter Jones was the only original investor to remain on the British show Dragon's Den continuously through its first decade.
Jones joined the original investor panel when the BBC programme began in 2005. The other founding Dragons—Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Doug Richard and Simon Woodroffe—eventually departed the regular panel. Jones therefore became the enduring link between the first group and later line-ups.
He is a British entrepreneur whose business interests have included mobile communications, technology and leisure. His presence on the programme is notable because he combined long-term panel continuity with a reputation for asking entrepreneurs about scale, ownership and commercial potential.
The wording concerns continuous service on the regular panel, not the number of deals made or the largest amount invested. It also does not mean Jones was the first Dragon chronologically; it identifies him as the surviving member of the original five-person line-up.
