Which Dragon was the founder of the Yo! Sushi restaurant chain?

The story behind the answer

Simon Woodroffe was the founder of the Yo! Sushi restaurant chain and an original Dragon on the British programme.

Woodroffe launched Yo! Sushi in London in 1997, introducing a conveyor-belt dining concept influenced by Japanese sushi restaurants. Customers could take dishes as they passed them, making the service model part of the restaurant's visual identity.

He later became associated with other hospitality and leisure ventures, including the YOTEL hotel concept. His experience as an entrepreneur shaped his role on the first Dragon's Den panel, where he assessed pitches from the perspective of a founder who had developed a distinctive consumer brand.

Yo! Sushi is often written as YO! Sushi in branding, but the person connected with its founding is Simon Woodroffe. Peter Jones and Doug Richard were also original Dragons, yet neither founded that restaurant chain.
