Steven Bartlett was the youngest investor ever to join the British series Dragon's Den.
Bartlett joined the regular panel in 2022, bringing a background in technology, marketing and digital entrepreneurship. He co-founded Social Chain, a social-media marketing company, and became known publicly through business and podcasting work before appearing on the BBC programme.
His appointment was notable because of his age compared with the established Dragons. The programme has traditionally featured experienced investors from retail, manufacturing, property, finance and technology, so Bartlett represented a younger generation of digital-business entrepreneur.
“Youngest Dragon” describes his age when joining the British panel; it does not mean he was the youngest entrepreneur ever to pitch on the show. Entrepreneurs who appear before the Dragons can be far younger, including students and teenage founders, but they are seeking investment rather than serving as panel members.
