Peter Jones remains the only original investor still on the British Dragon's Den panel.
Jones joined the original investor line-up when the British series launched in 2005. The first panel also included Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Doug Richard and Simon Woodroffe. Over subsequent series, the programme changed its investor line-up several times as Dragons left and new investors arrived.
Jones became particularly associated with technology, telecommunications and consumer businesses. His continuing presence gives him a direct connection between the programme's first series and its later seasons. He is also one of the show's longest-serving investors.
A common mix-up is to describe every early Dragon as an original who remained throughout the programme. That is not correct: the original panel changed substantially. Peter Jones is the surviving member of the launch panel, while other long-serving investors joined later or departed after earlier seasons.
