Which Dragon on BBC's Dragon's Den founded the freight network Pall-Ex?
Answer
Hilary Devey
Answer
Hilary Devey
Hilary Devey founded the freight network Pall-Ex and later appeared as a Dragon on BBC's Dragon's Den.
Pall-Ex was created in 1996 as a palletised freight distribution network. Its model connected independent hauliers so that palletised consignments could be transported across a national network more efficiently than by isolated local operators.
Devey joined the BBC programme in 2011, bringing a background in logistics and transport rather than the retail, property or consumer-brand experience associated with several other panel members. She was recognised for an energetic and highly competitive negotiating style.
Pall-Ex is a logistics network, not a parcel-delivery brand in the narrow consumer sense. That distinction matters because its core business serves freight customers and transport partners, especially for palletised goods.
