Sara Davies joined the UK series Dragon's Den in 2019 after founding Crafter's Companion.
Davies founded Crafter's Companion while she was a student at the University of York. The company began with a product designed to help people make envelopes for handmade cards and developed into a craft-supplies business with an international customer base.
Her entrepreneurial background gives her particular expertise in product development, retail, manufacturing and direct-to-consumer sales. Those subjects often feature in the questions she asks on the programme, especially when a founder is selling a physical product.
The clue distinguishes Davies from earlier female dragons. Deborah Meaden joined in 2006, while Rachel Elnaugh belonged to the original panel. Crafter's Companion is the decisive identifying detail because it is the company most closely associated with Davies's route from student invention to television investor.
