Peter Jones joined the original British Dragons' Den panel in 2005 and remained for its first ten series.
Jones was one of the investors selected for the UK adaptation when it launched on the BBC. His background in technology, telecommunications and consumer businesses gave him a broad investment profile on the programme.
He became the only original Dragon to remain on the main panel continuously through the first ten series. Other early Dragons, including Duncan Bannatyne and Theo Paphitis, also became strongly associated with the programme but did not share the same continuous tenure across that period.
The show has changed its panel several times since its launch, while Jones continued as a recurring investor. This makes his tenure distinct from the separate question of who was the youngest Dragon or the first female Dragon.
