Kelly Hoppen joined the British television programme Dragon's Den in 2013 and is a former interior designer.
Hoppen entered the Dragon's Den panel with a career built in interior design. She became known for a design approach combining clean lines, neutral colours and influences associated with East Asian aesthetics, a style often described as East-meets-West.
Her design work included residential and commercial interiors, and she also developed product and homeware interests. That experience gave her a perspective different from Dragons whose main backgrounds were retail, technology or manufacturing.
Hoppen's time on the programme was relatively brief compared with Peter Jones's continuous tenure. She should also be distinguished from Deborah Meaden, who became a Dragon earlier and is primarily associated with investment and business ownership rather than interior design.
