Which Dragon joined the British television programme Dragon's Den in 2006?

The story behind the answer

Deborah Meaden joined the British television programme Dragon's Den in 2006.

Meaden became one of the programme's most recognisable investors after joining the panel in the show's third series. She had built a career in business before appearing on television, including work in leisure and hospitality, and became known for questioning entrepreneurs closely about sales, margins and ownership.

Her arrival was part of the programme's changing panel. Dragon's Den has regularly refreshed its investor lineup, so the Dragons seen in one series are not necessarily the same as those in another. Meaden, however, became a long-term fixture and remained associated with the series far beyond her debut.

A Dragon's on-screen decision is not identical to a completed investment. Deals agreed in the studio can change or fail during due diligence, when financial records and other details are checked. That distinction is a recurring feature of the programme and of real-world venture investment.
