Which Dragon joined the British show Dragon's Den in series nine in 2011?

The story behind the answer

Hilary Devey joined the British show Dragon's Den in series nine in 2011.

Devey was a businesswoman and television personality best known for founding Pall-Ex, a palletised freight distribution network. Her business background made logistics and operational scale recurring subjects in her discussions with entrepreneurs.

She joined Dragon's Den for its ninth series, broadcast in 2011, replacing James Caan on the investor panel. Her period on the programme was relatively brief compared with some of the longest-serving Dragons, but it gave the series another investor with experience in transport, distribution and company building.

Devey later became associated with other television projects, including The Intern. The year 2011 and series nine identify her arrival specifically; later female Dragons such as Kelly Hoppen and Jenny Campbell joined in different series.
