Which Dragon joined the British series Dragon's Den in 2017 as an investor from the family-owned Vitabiotics business?

The story behind the answer

Tej Lalvani joined the British series Dragon's Den in 2017 as an investor from the family-owned Vitabiotics business.

Lalvani became a Dragon in the fifteenth series, replacing entrepreneur Nick Jenkins on the panel. He was chief executive of Vitabiotics, the company founded by his father, Kartar Lalvani. The business is known for nutritional supplements and brands including Wellman and Perfectil.

His experience gave him a background in consumer healthcare, branding, product development and international distribution. Those areas frequently shaped the questions he asked entrepreneurs about customer trust, regulation and the ability to build a recognisable product range.

Tej Lalvani is sometimes confused with Steven Bartlett because both joined the programme after earlier panel changes. Bartlett arrived later, in 2022. Lalvani's defining pre-Den business connection is Vitabiotics, rather than a technology company or fashion retailer.
