Tej Lalvani joined the BBC's Dragon's Den in 2017 after building the health-supplement company Vitabiotics.
Lalvani is a British businessman who became chief executive of Vitabiotics, a company founded by his father, Kartar Lalvani. Vitabiotics is associated with branded vitamins and supplements, including products sold through pharmacies, supermarkets and other retailers. Lalvani brought experience in consumer healthcare, brand development and distribution to the investor panel.
He joined Dragon's Den in the programme's fifteenth series. His appearance therefore belongs to a later generation of Dragons, after the departures of several investors who had defined the show's first decade. His investment decisions, like those of the other panel members, depended on valuation, ownership offered, evidence of demand and the proposed business plan.
The key identification clue is Vitabiotics. Touker Suleyman is linked mainly with fashion and retail, while Steven Bartlett joined in 2022. Piers Linney appeared on the show before Lalvani and has a technology and finance background.
