Tej Lalvani joined the BBC series Dragon's Den in 2017 as a replacement for Nick Jenkins.
Lalvani joined the regular panel for the fifteenth series, following Jenkins's departure. He brought experience from consumer goods and pharmaceuticals through Vitabiotics, the family company where he served as chief executive.
His background gave him a particular connection to branded health and wellness products, although his investments on the programme covered a wider range of businesses. The appointment continued the show's practice of refreshing its panel while retaining established Dragons such as Peter Jones and Deborah Meaden.
Nick Jenkins had been a Dragon for only a limited period before leaving. This can cause confusion with other panel changes, especially the arrival of Touker Suleyman in series thirteen and later appointments such as Sara Davies.
