Sara Davies joined Dragons' Den as an investor in series 17.

Davies is an entrepreneur associated with Crafter's Companion, a company she founded after developing a product to help people create handmade greeting cards. The business grew from that initial idea into a craft-products company selling internationally.

Her background made her a distinctive addition to the panel. Rather than coming primarily from banking or traditional retail, Davies brought experience in product development, direct selling, manufacturing and building a consumer brand. Those areas are particularly relevant to many of the small businesses that pitch on the programme.

Series numbers provide a useful way to distinguish Davies from other female Dragons. Deborah Meaden joined much earlier, while Kelly Hoppen and Jenny Campbell entered in different series. Davies’s series-17 appointment marked her first appearance as a Dragon on the main British programme.
