Which dragon joined Dragons' Den after building the fashion retailer Hawes & Curtis?
Answer
Touker Suleyman
Answer
Touker Suleyman
Touker Suleyman joined Dragons' Den after building the fashion retailer Hawes & Curtis.
Suleyman acquired Hawes & Curtis in 2001 and helped develop the historic shirtmaker into a broader menswear and retail business. The brand, founded in London in 1913, became known especially for shirts and formal clothing.
His investment background also includes involvement in fashion and retail brands such as Ghost. That experience made Suleyman a particularly relevant investor for pitches involving manufacturing, clothing, branding and consumer goods.
Hawes & Curtis should not be confused with Moonpig or Social Chain. Moonpig is associated with Nick Jenkins, while Social Chain was co-founded by Steven Bartlett. Suleyman joined Dragons' Den in series 13 and became known for combining retail experience with a willingness to negotiate firmly over equity.
