Kelly Hoppen joined BBC's Dragons' Den in 2013 after becoming an internationally recognised interior designer.
Hoppen was born in South Africa and began her interior-design career as a teenager. Her style became associated with neutral colours, clean lines and a blend of eastern and western design influences. She founded Kelly Hoppen Interiors and worked on residential, commercial and aviation projects.
She joined the television programme in its eleventh series, replacing a departing investor. Her business background differed from that of many Dragons because it centred on design, branding and luxury interiors rather than a single technology or retail company.
Hoppen later left the regular Dragons' Den lineup. She is sometimes confused with fellow female Dragons Hilary Devey or Sara Davies, but neither had the same interior-design career or joined the programme in the same role and year.
