James Caan joined BBC's Dragon's Den in 2007 after building Alexander Mann Solutions.
Alexander Mann Solutions is a recruitment and talent-management company founded by Caan in 1986. It developed from a specialist recruitment business into an international provider of outsourced talent-acquisition services.
Caan became a Dragon in the programme's fifth series, adding recruitment and private-equity experience to the panel. He was known for asking entrepreneurs to explain how they would grow beyond a founder-led operation and how much control they were prepared to give an investor.
Caan left the regular panel after the ninth series. He is sometimes confused with later Dragons because the programme has repeatedly changed its line-up, but his tenure belongs to the late-2000s and early-2010s period of the BBC show.
