Which Dragon invested in the children's luggage company Trunki after its Dragon's Den pitch?

The story behind the answer

None of the Dragons invested in Trunki after its Dragon's Den pitch.

Rob Law presented the ride-on children's suitcase on the programme, but the pitch ended without an agreement. Despite that result, the broadcast gave Trunki significant exposure and helped audiences remember the product. The company subsequently developed the luggage business outside the Den and achieved international sales.

This story is a useful reminder that a televised “no deal” is not the same as a business failure. Dragon's Den records the investors' decisions at the pitch, while a company can continue raising money, refining its product and building distribution after filming. Trunki became one of the programme's best-known examples of an entrepreneur who succeeded without accepting an offer from a Dragon.

The answer is “None,” rather than a Dragon's name. Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden and Duncan Bannatyne were all members of the programme's panel at different times, but none made the investment associated with this pitch.
