Richard Farleigh invested in Reggae Reggae Sauce alongside Peter Jones on the British television show Dragons' Den.
Levi Roots pitched his Caribbean-style sauce to the Dragons and secured investment from Jones and Farleigh. The appearance helped turn the product from a small food-business proposition into a nationally recognised brand.
The deal is often remembered mainly because Roots became one of the programme’s most recognisable entrepreneurs, so the second investor can be overlooked. Farleigh was an Australian-born investor and former hedge-fund manager who served on the Dragons' Den panel for an early period. The investment agreement and later commercial development are separate from Roots’s personal brand and subsequent food products.
