Peter Jones has been a panel member of the British television programme Dragon's Den since its first series.
Jones was one of the original Dragons when the BBC programme began in 2005, alongside Duncan Bannatyne, Theo Paphitis, Rachel Elnaugh and Simon Woodroffe. He remained associated with the programme through later changes in the investor line-up.
The entrepreneur is known for investments and business interests spanning technology, media, retail and consumer products. On Dragon's Den, he is recognised for assessing both the product and the commercial potential of the entrepreneur presenting it.
A common mix-up is to identify any long-running Dragon as an original investor. Several prominent panel members joined in later series, including Deborah Meaden and other subsequent Dragons. Jones is the distinctive answer because his membership reaches back to the inaugural series and continued across the programme's long run.
