Peter Jones has appeared on every main investor panel of the BBC series Dragons' Den since it began in 2005.
Jones is a British entrepreneur and investor whose interests have included technology, retail, property and media. He joined the original Dragons' Den panel alongside Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Simon Woodroffe and Doug Richard. Although the panel has changed substantially over the years, Jones has remained a constant presence.
His continued participation makes him the show's longest-serving Dragon and the only investor to have appeared in every main series. Other well-known Dragons, including Deborah Meaden, Theo Paphitis and Touker Suleyman, joined after the programme had already started. Jones is also associated with Phones International Group and the Peter Jones Foundation.
A common mix-up is confusing the original panel with the current panel: being an original Dragon does not mean every original investor stayed. Jones is the exception among the original investors, while the programme itself has also featured guest and temporary Dragons in different periods.
