Peter Jones has appeared on Dragon's Den since the British programme's first series.
Jones is a British entrepreneur and investor whose interests have included technology, telecommunications, retail and leisure. His continuing presence made him the only original Dragon to remain a regular member of the panel across the programme's long run.
The first panel also included Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Theo Paphitis and Doug Richard. Several of those original investors later left, while new Dragons joined in different series. This changing panel is why the phrase “the original Dragons” does not identify the current lineup.
Peter Jones is often confused with other long-serving investors, especially Theo Paphitis and Deborah Meaden. Paphitis was an original Dragon but did not remain throughout the entire run, while Meaden joined later. Jones's continuity from series one is the distinguishing fact asked for here.
