Which Dragon founded the electronics company Amstrad before joining Dragons' Den?

The story behind the answer

Alan Sugar founded the electronics company Amstrad before joining the UK television programme Dragons' Den.

Sugar established Amstrad in 1968; the name was formed from his initials, A.M.S., and the word “Trading”. The company first dealt in consumer electronics and later became known for products including satellite receivers, computers and affordable hi-fi equipment.

Amstrad expanded significantly during the 1980s. Its Amstrad CPC home computer became an important British computer of that period, competing with machines such as the Commodore 64 and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. The company was sold to BSkyB in 2007.

Sugar joined the Dragons' Den panel as one of the programme's investors. Viewers sometimes confuse Amstrad with Sugar's later business activities, including his ownership of Tottenham Hotspur during the 1990s, but Amstrad was the company he founded and built into a major electronics brand.
