Which Dragon backed the Reggae Reggae Sauce pitch alongside Peter Jones?
Answer
Richard Farleigh
Answer
Richard Farleigh
Richard Farleigh backed the Reggae Reggae Sauce pitch alongside Peter Jones.
Levi Roots presented his Caribbean sauce on Dragons' Den in 2007, during the programme's fourth series. Peter Jones and Richard Farleigh jointly offered £50,000 for a 40% stake, making Farleigh one of the two Dragons associated with the deal.
The investment became especially memorable because the sauce had a strong personal story, a distinctive name, and clear potential for supermarket distribution. Roots later developed a broader food brand, while the televised pitch became a frequently cited example of the programme's ability to give consumer products national exposure.
Viewers sometimes remember only Peter Jones because he remained a long-running and highly visible Dragon. The original agreement, however, involved two investors. Richard Farleigh was a technology and finance entrepreneur who served on the panel for part of the programme's early run, making this one of his best-known Dragons' Den investments.
